College, Not Blogging, and Knitting

I always set my sights so high for myself when it comes to things like blogging. And then I let a whole semester of college pass me by without writing in this blog once. Obviously, at this point, it's too late to try to blog about everything that's happened to me this semester. But my finals are over and I'm still in Provo for the next couple of days, so I might as well blog something, right?

So suffice to say this: BYU is a great place!

Hanging out with Brigham Young
I love all the new friends I've made here, and I've learned a lot in all my classes this semester. And I think I've got a major picked out—Industrial Design, which is basically designing products and everything in this world that has a physical form (from laptops, cars, and furniture to packaging, water bottles, doorknobs, whatever else). Meanwhile, I also want to do a secondary major in French and a minor in Visual Arts. I'm sure it will be possible, as long as I don't expect to graduate in four years (Industrial Design would make that impossible anyway, since it's at least a 3.5 year program and I can't apply until next August).

In the meantime, I managed to finally finish knitting my red rêveur scarf, inspired by The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I used the Irish Hiking Scarf pattern from Ravelry.

(because obviously, I couldn't resist creating an obnoxiously artistic photo)

Special thanks my friend Ally for taking such great photos.
Looks like Christmas!
I highly recommend reading The Night Circus. It's quite magical, and it's definitely a winter book, so now's the time to read it. Maybe it will inspire you to knit your own red scarf.

Well, I suppose that's all for now. I'm going home in a few days and I'll actually be able to cook, so look out for things that I will make (probably with my sister). Also, stay tuned for Adventures in Oatmeal-Land. I'm adventurous with my oatmeal.
